CSI Boston Board Meetings

The CSI Boston Chapter Board of Directors conducts a virtual meeting monthly from September to June on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 4:15 pm – 5:15 pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please email [email protected] to request a meeting link.

CSI Boston Programming Meetings

The CSI Boston Chapter meets monthly from September to June.  Meetings are held at the UMass Club on the 32nd Floor of One Beacon Street in Boston, except in December and June when we hold a social event.  Our chapter meeting at the UMass Club includes:

  • Networking time with tabletops from our sponsors, appetizers, and a cash bar
  • Sit-down, buffet-style hot dinner prepared by the UMass Club
  • Presentation by a speaker

Typical CSI meeting attendees and members are building and construction professionals including architects, engineers, manufacturer technical representatives, contractors, and students.

Limited parking available in 1 Beacon Street Parking Garage (entrance on Cambridge Street). Discounted pricing applies if parking after 4:00 pm.

Prior to the meeting, please join us as we celebrate and recognize members of the Boston CSI Chapter for their commitment to our organization. The Chapter will be bestowing awards for the following categories:

Exemplary Service Award – To be awarded to a current member who has shown exemplary service to the Boston Chapter for a minimum of 15 consecutive years.
Chapter Appreciation Award (Individual) – To be awarded to a current member who has provided outstanding service to the Boston Chapter during the past Chapter year.
Chapter Appreciation Award (Firm) – To be awarded to a firm which has provided outstanding support to the Boston Chapter during the past Chapter year.
Rookie of the Year – To be awarded to a new member who has been significantly involved in Boston Chapter activities, meetings, and committees during the past Chapter year.
Attendance Award – To be awarded to a current (non-Board) member who has attended the most Boston Chapter meetings/activities in-person during the past Chapter year.
Ambassador of the Year – To be awarded to the Ambassador who has been instrumental in renewing a lapsed member and/or has influenced a Chapter member to become involved in a Chapter’s committee.
Returning Veteran – To be awarded to a returning current member who has been absent from Boston Chapter involvement or activities for the past 5 years.
Chapter President Award – To be awarded to an individual(s) recognized by the Chapter President for having gone above and beyond in their service to the Chapter.

Chellis Award – This award, established in 2002, recognizes and honors a member of the Chapter’s community of Architects, Engineers, and Specifiers who has provided exceptional service to the Boston Chapter of The Construction Specifications Institute. The recipient’s involvement in Chapter programs and activities would represent all outstanding qualities that Red stood for. “Red” was an invaluable member of the Boston Chapter and represented a personal commitment of service to the Chapter. He held several offices in the Chapter, including President. Whenever he was called upon for a project, leadership role, or other task, his “can-do” attitude got the job done thoroughly and on-time.

The individual honored with this award has the same spirit, commitment and dedication to the Chapter and is a deserving recipient of this award.

Edmund Smith Award – This award, established in 1983, recognizes and honors a member of the Chapter’s community of Product Representatives who has provided outstanding service to the Boston Chapter of The Construction Specifications Institute and its members. Edmund Smith was an outstanding manufacturer’s representative, absolutely untiring in his efforts to assist architects and specifiers in the proper use of systems he represented and always willing to make the extra effort to provide exceptionally high quality service. Ed set the standard of performance deserving an award bearing his name and dedicated to his memory. Recipients of this award, selected for outstanding service are honored by this association. The individual honored with this award has consistently maintained the same qualities and dedication and is a deserving recipient of this award.
